As you have likely heard by now, GM announced this morning that we have reached agreements with the U.S. Treasury and the governments of Canada and Ontario to accelerate our reinvention and create a leaner, stronger “New GM” positioned for a profitable, self-sustaining and competitive future. This is a historic day for GM and our country, as we begin using a court-supervised process to quickly launch a new, highly competitive company built upon only the strongest parts of our business. We’re here to stay – for our customers, employees, retirees, suppliers and dealers.

These kids were so excited to see all the cars pull up, and were especially thrilled when we allowed them to get inside and check out the Chevy Equinox Fuel Cell up close! They were impressed how similar these vehicles looked to those they are familiar with, but liked how much better they were for the environment!
Great stop in Chico this afternoon! GM was chosen to lead the caravan arriving to local favorite, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, but not before picking up Chico Mayor Sue Schwab to ride shotgun.
Governor Schwarzenegger joined the tour this morning at the Shell hydrogen station in W.
Today's stop at UC Irvine would not have been complete without meeting celebrity mascot, Peter the Anteater. Famous for his "long tongue," (no joke - check out Peter's Page at www.uci.edu/peter/) Peter didn't disappoint. Unfortunately, we had to threaten with the bug spray in order to get back the keys to the Chevy fuel cell.
Irvine Mayor Sukhee Kang said he's waiting anxiously to get the keys to his Chevy Equinox fuel cell vehicle. Mayor Kang was particularly excited to see so many different fuel cell vehicles from the eight automakers fueling at the UC Irvine hydrogen pump today, the first fueling stop of the Hydrogen Road Tour. The Mayor was also proud to explain how the U.S. Postal Service is using Chevy's fuel cells to deliver mail in his city.
Rep. Bob Filner drove the Chevy Equinox off the starting line today from the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. First response after arriving in San Diego was, "when can I buy one?" Of course, that's our dream reaction ... it's great to see so many people excited about hydrogen fuel cell technology. Good media turn out today, too - look for stories in SD Union Tribune and on KUCI tonight!
